Juan Álvarez-Vijande is an architect and researcher currently pursuing a Master in Design Studies at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, where he also serves as a Student Ambassador to the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability. His work explores the intersection of architecture, ecology, and thermodynamics, with a focus on regenerative development and climate-responsive design.

Before enrolling at the GSD, he worked as a licensed architect in Madrid, serving as the co-founder of J+R Architects & Associates since 2018. Prior to this role, he collaborated with award-winning architects such as Rafael Moneo and Izaskun Chinchilla Architects, making significant contributions to various national and international projects.

During his tenure at the Architectural Association in London and at Zhejiang University in China, Juan cultivated a focused interest in environmental design, user wellbeing, and symbiotic approaches to landscape architecture, considering these as integral foundations for advancing regenerative development.

He completed his studies in Architecture at the San Pablo C.E.U. School of Architecture and was awarded the "CEU TALENT PLUS" diploma in recognition of his exceptional academic profile and extracurricular activities.
